Cyber Program Director, Georgia Cyber Center
Steven G. Weldon is the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) Cyber Program Director at the Georgia Cyber Center in Augusta, GA. He joined SRNL in July 2023.
Steven is a 30-year veteran having served in the Georgia Army National Guard as an Infantryman and the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician Interpretive (Russian) and an Information Warfare Officer. He retired from the Navy as a Captain, USN (O6) in 2015. Following his naval service, Steven was full-time faculty with Augusta University’s School of Computer and Cyber Sciences for seven years. He continues to teach courses with Augusta University as part-time faculty.
Steven’s responsibilities with SRNL at the Georgia Cyber Center include partner relations with government, academia, and industry at the GCC and throughout the region. He is also the Lab
Manager for SRNL’s Georgia Cyber Center – Critical Infrastructure, Industrial Control Systems, and Cybersecurity (G-CIIC) Lab at the Georgia Cyber Center. The G-CIIC is involved in Operational Technology Research & Development, Testing & Evaluation, and Vulnerability Assessments for a variety of government sponsors.
Steven earned a Bachelor of Arts in the Russian Language from The Georgia Washington University in Washington, DC and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
